John 8:30-36

30 As he was saying these things, ⁱmany believed in him.

The Truth Will Set You Free

31 So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, ^j“If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, 32 and you will ^kknow the truth, and the truth ^lwill set you free.” 33 They answered him, ^m“We are offspring of Abraham and have never been enslaved to anyone. How is it that you say, ‘You will become free’?”

34 Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, ⁿeveryone who practices sin is a slave ^{▼▼Greek bondservant; also verse 35} to sin. 35 ^pThe slave does not remain in the house forever; ^qthe son remains forever. 36 So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.

James 1:25

25 But the one who looks into the perfect law, ^rthe law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, ^she will be blessed in his doing.

James 2:12

12 So speak and so act as those who are to be judged under ^tthe law of liberty.
